Positioning Today’s Students for Careers in Childcare and Early Childhood Education
Individuals responsible for the care and educational well-being of children are among our unsung heroes. For this reason, the Lexington R-V Early Childhood Professions is vocational program designed to equip high school juniors and seniors with real-life, hands-on strategies to help them persevere in college and in their careers. Students use their knowledge through observation and application in the on-site early childhood classrooms. The ultimate goal is to begin preparation for careers in early childhood education, elementary education, high-quality childcare and childcare administration. Course work also emphasizes an understanding of early childhood theory and provides a foundation for college coursework, or toward a Childhood Development Associate (C.D.A.) credential.
